Not all NAPSTERs complete their mission due to DQs. Should they apply for NROTC as a backup and would they be considered? At this time, those NAPSTERs who are academically and or physically under water are being told that they are disqualified and being released.

I merged these two threads. There is no need to post the same thread multiple times.

I guess my question would be if someone is not cutting it at NAPS are they going to be competitive for an NROTC scholarship? My guess is no. A medical DQ does happen and that is a different story. I would think someone could apply, but my hesitation is, if they can’t pass the PRT or academics what is going to make the Navy say this person is worthy of earning a scholarship? I would think if someone doesn’t matriculate due to those two items, they are going to have to walk on somewhere and prove themselves. I am not trying to be harsh here, but the reality is if someone can’t pass the academics or PRT, there are going to be a lot of questions about why that candidate is not at USNA.
