I think you have a chance but you're not a lock. Your GPA and SATs are a little low. The Citadel and Norwich are similar and are both easier to gain admission. Do you play an instrument?
Hello! I wanted to follow up on your offer to PM you. I just had a couple of questions regarding my DS's application and where you believe, as a BGO, are his weaknesses.

Good evening. How can I help?
Could you possibly put me in touch with a prior enlisted who came out of A school to USNA, or at least from fleet to USNA? I'm currently in the process of applying and have questions that I can't find answers to. It would be GREATLY appreciated.
Do you play an instrument or are you willing to learn?

I don't currently play an instrument, no, but it's definitely a skill I've been interested in picking up.

The reason I ask is that band company is always looking for people. The bass drum is pretty simple (especially with the music VMI plays). It could give you a leg up. My son is a 3rd if you have any other questions.

Ah, I see. Unfortunately, I hadn't put it on my application, but thank you for the information. I'll be sure to contact you with any more questions I have.

Hope you are well. Is it OK to share your "Falcon A" name with someone on this forum? They reached out to me based on my past questions on this forum about allergies and I mentioned how helpful people on this forum were.

You bet -- If it was Need2KnOw, I've already PM'd with her
Hope you are doing well and your Westpoint daughter and Senior as well!
Is it ok to share your "go cubbies" name with someone on this forum who reached out to me regarding my past post on allergies? I mentioned that people on the forum were extremely helpful and they asked that I share some contacts names.
Hi, I am from AZ as well. My son and I were curious how our senators and moc process noms. Were you able to determine if any of them selected principal or ranked their slates?
Thank you!

He still does not 100% know if it was the senator nom or our congresswoman nom that is responsible for the appt. And we are not sure if they were ranked or not. Our experience was both senators and the congresswoman all had different processes and timelines. He did receive his offer of appointment in mid January which was earlier than we expected Good Luck to your son!

Okay, well we will just go through the process and wait and see! Thank you
On your post about DOR, did you follow through? And if so, how did the process look like? Especially with payment plan?
There's a problem that might prevent my friend's brother from applying to the AFA. He applied to the USNA as his first and AFA as his secondary nomination, but he can't do a long jump! He also says that the AFA aft/pft is much much worse than the USNA prt (which doesn't have pull ups, long jump or 600 yd sprint). He's also saying that he'll flunk out of BCT because of the altitude. Any help?

The only way to become better at physical fitness challenges is to pursue them daily: workout at a gym, at home, run, do pushups and situps, practice long jumping, etc. As for what the USNA PRT has on it, simply look on their website and work on the items listed:

b. PRT Standards (Minimum Passing Score)
1) Curl-ups (2 -minutes) : 65 (Male/Female)
2) Push-ups (2-minutes): 45 (Male) I 20 (Female)
3) 1.5-mile Run: 10:30 (Male) I 12 :40 (Female)

If someone can't meet those standards (they're fairly simple for a healthy young male/female) then it's time to put down the X-Box controls, and time to get physical.

His 1 1/2 mile is 12:00. He needs to get to work. He also did a mock cfa and his mile time was 7:50. Yikes
Also, my friend's brother tried the cfa (not official), and he got 8 pull-ups, 55 ft basketball throw, 9 sec shuttle run, 52 push ups, 68 curl ups and 7:50 mile. Are these scores good (he is very strong academically, but not so much physically.)?
Also, should you send CFA scores before or after applying for a nomination? THX

I do think there is not a lot of benefit to trying to finesse things like when to send scores. The numbers will pretty much speak for themselves regardless of when they were sent in.

The 7:50 is good??? I told him to improve! (USAFA says that you should aim for 6:30). Also, where can I post this CFA info?

My bad, I was thinking 1 1/2 miles. Yes, I would try and better that.

I have not heard of an applicant being rejected from being a college programmer in my specific unit. In the end it is your performance in the unit and your college gpa which determines advanced standing and sideloads.

No problem. Best of luck to you on your journey.
This may be a bad question, but are deck degrees or engine majors easier? Even if you can't give me a direct answer, please try to weigh the harder and easier parts of each major (particularly Logistics and Transportation. How are they different & which one’s harder?) This is for my friend's brother. Thx.

Also, what is the average salary of KP deckie? BLS said that Marine Engineers earn nearly $93000, but what about deck guys?

I don't think there is any measurable difference.

Hey are you still in ROTC? If so I’m guessing that as a engineering major, you went to/are going to UCSB or CALPOLLY
LITS,

Read a post that you got a waiver for Dyslexia. I'd like to learn more about this. Did you have academic accommodations prior to your waiver?
Please do not post questions here. Post them to the appropriate forum where everyone can benefit from the question and responses. You'll also get the question to a much wider audience.
Hi Pima,
I was misdiagnosed with PTSD last year and but new psychistrist reevaluated me n says I dont have it.
Also, I went to the e.r. about 12 times 1 yr ago bc I had problems at home.

Will the above DQ me?
If yes, is there any hope for me to overturn the DQ or fight it?
