  • Hi batmom: Thanks so much. My son has lived for this moment. And he also wants to fly. He attended SS at USAFA and USNA last summer, both were third sessions. He really feels like he belongs at USAFA. If he doesn't get an appointment this time, he is prepared to start the application process over again immediately. In the meantime, Plan B is Embry-Riddle or NC State. ERAU if enough scholarship money comes in. I think finally knowing which way he will be moving will help some.
    Hello
    Just noticed your message.
Logan's DoDMERB came back clean with no issues back in August. His application was completed including CFA I believe in late Sept or early Oct. His CFA was average to slightly above in some areas. His final ACT was a 32 composite with 34s in english and science and 32s in math and reading. He made Eagle Scout 2 years ago. We live about 15 miles north of Denver so it will be easier to see him and faster for him to get home on holidays. Now it's the usual worrying that he doesn't get injured between now and I-day.
    Take care.

The medical issues are always the most difficult to deal with. There are some very knowledgeable people in the medical forum of this site. I really suggest asking the question there. Also; after tuesday when the academy reopens, have your son contact his academy counselor. They can set him up with the procedures he needs to go through. Sorry if I can't give you a direct solution, but when it comes to DODMRB, each case is individual and specific. But it sounds like you have your ducks lined up. Best of luck to you. Mike....
