    Medical Qualification

Would not bet the farm on this info, but per the DoD instruction number 6130.03 "Medical Standards for Appointment, Enlistment, or Induction in the Military Services" dated 28 April 2010, following is an excerpt pertaining to asthma. My DS followed this after he received a request for more info...

    Still in the game

Currey, I have been reading your post about the wait and it made me remimber a waitlisted canadidate a couple of years ago. I had been a avid reader of the forums as my DS was applying to the class of 2017. Jalusna2016 has a DD that was waitlisted for the class of 2016. She was an outstanding...

    USNA Wait List–Information?

Not sure of the "Letter of Law", but if I were a Congress member and this happened to my Principle, then there would be H*** to pay. Willing to bet none of the principles this happened to were nominated by a member of the Armed Services Committee.

Principal Nomination - how long to wait for USNA?

Congrates and stay healthy Last year our DS was I informed (by Congressman) that he received a Principle Nom on 3 Dec. His USNA application status page indicated he had received a nomination (did not indicate principle or competitive) on 11 Dec. Received BFE on 3 January. By the way he was...

    Class of 2017 Profile

Looking in the past 4 years (2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016) I can't find Scouting nor Eagle being listed in the published profile. Also 2014 listed the "Hardship or Adverse Life Experience" cat.

No NASS , Now What ?

Not sure what you mean by "I didn't get into the Naval Academy" and then asked about NASS? I assume your are a Jr. and you applied to NASS for this summer, received a denial and are wondering about what to do to become a candidate for the class of 2018. If this is correct, my DS was in...

    FQ

prthaler and suddensam, My DS had the same feeling as you. His CIS currently shows only the basics (SAT scores, and status of required application info), and the DoDMERB site only showed qualification info. But he is FQ (had principle nom) with BFE in hand. So do not get discouraged.

    Mom of AROTC hopeful 2013

I have no idea concerning your question, but you may want to post your question on the ROTC thread, to get an answer.

    October 15, 2012 AROTC Board

PIMA: This brings up a question I have had in my head for a while. Assume DS gets a 4yr ROTC scholarship (in particular a NROTC-MO) and accepts it. Then in March/April timeframe gets a BFE from USNA (fingers crossed). If he holds on to the NROTC-MO scholarship till I-Day (makes sure he...

    School choice questions

Not answering your question, but looking at what you DS is wanting, can I suggest you look at Birmingham Southern College. My oldest goes there. The school is a small (1300) Liberal Arts college with a very good business school and can minor in pre-engineering. Has an AROTC (cross town with...

Color deficient at USNA but not USAFA

MMMom, Under the U of H they list the clinical services, and my DS called about 6 weeks ago. They stated they still provide the Farnsworth Lantern testing on Thurs morinings for $60. Also, you can get the testing in College Station, but you have to schedule well in advance, as I believe they...

Color deficient at USNA but not USAFA

What area of the country are you in? If you are interested, there are a few (very few) eye doc.s that have the Farnsworth. Example there is a FAA filght doctor in Az. that performs the Fransworth Lantern to help people that have simular issue with the FAA. Also, the University of Houston...

Color deficient at USNA but not USAFA

Same happened to my DS. He called the DoDMERB and was informed that starting 1 September the DoDMERB stop sending remed for Color Deficient. I believe the issue is the problems the DoDMERB was having finding a facility with a Farnsworth L, and the logistics of getting the canadidate on base...
