Still in the game

Nothin. Nada. Not a thing. Silence.

On a fun note though, DS qualified for USRowing Youth Nationals in the M2x and was awarded Distinguished Scholar. We are now at fair and he has been busy showing animals and helping friends while finishing school work.

Waiting is easier when you have no time to think :)

Not gonna lie, I'm going to miss this thread when it's off the front page. Still praying for you Currey... finding out what the outcome is for you is what keeps me coming back. Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mommy's out there!

Currey- when oh when will they notify you? I feel so sorry for your DS. Mine may have received the TWE but at least he knows. I hope you enjoyed Mother's Day.

The one bright side of Curry's interminable wait, is that we are all still here!!! Holding hands! Hi Womp Womp!! hugs Prepswimmom!! SPelly, are you still there making the cocktails??

I just poured a ketel and tonic to check in. I cannot believe that Currey has not heard. I hope all you wonderful mothers enjoyed your day yesterday. I had the pleasure of watching my DD walk at her college graduation Saturday. I check in every day to see if Currey has received any news. Still taking orders for when we all meet again. By the way, new nomination packets are out there for the printing! Here we go! May need to buy extra lemons! Still saying a prayer for your Currey!

We are a bit jaded at this point. Have a yellow slip in the post today that we saw after the post office closed. My husband and I both looked at eachother and said the same thing. "must be another Amazon order." :) Here's to more info as the week progresses.

Hope all is well with all. DS is excited and ready for college to start. Currey, I can't imagine dealing with the wait you and yours have. Blessings to all. (By the way, Bob was delivering mail yesterday and as he stepped out of his mail truck to head up our front walk a shower of rain blasted down on him. It lasted for about 3 minutes! Maybe it was a little payback for his antics.)

Carry on all. Thank you for your encouragement while we were islanders.

Thanks T. Dad, that made me grin!

Currey, I want to buy you a drink when all is said and done. Name the place and I'll be there! :thumb:

So nice to see you all back on the Forum in support of our friend Currey! I miss our crazy days of watching, waiting and stalking. DS graduates this Sunday and is very excited for what lies ahead at Catholic University. I think he is going to end up joining the ROTC battalion out of Georgetown, the Hoya Battalion. And life goes on...he has started the re-app process, but hasn't said much about it. Currey, if I was you I would take a page out of a French history book and storm the Bastille!:thumb:

Currey,
I have been reading your post about the wait and it made me remimber a waitlisted canadidate a couple of years ago. I had been a avid reader of the forums as my DS was applying to the class of 2017. Jalusna2016 has a DD that was waitlisted for the class of 2016. She was an outstanding canidiate, but ended up receiving a TWE 5 days after I-Day. I think she was the last one on the wait list. A couple of candidates had received BFE (calls) within the week of I-Day. I had read many of her post and was very sorry when I saw the TWE post. Jalusna2016 posted later that her DD was reappling for the class of 2017 and gave some additional info concerning where she was going to college and other stuff. --- Fast forward to December 2013, At the NTx USNA Alumin Association dinner for USNA candidates they are wanting to be sure they make the right decision (USNA over USMA, USAFA, USCGA, MMA, …). I met Jalusna2016’s DD at out table. I did not know it was her until next day when I thought this young lady’s story reminded me of someone waitlisted, and after a couple of PMs discovered it was her. --- Fast forward again, and my DS and jalusna2016’s DS are in the same Co. in the class of 2017.
I hope you get good news sooner than later, but if you get the dreaded TWE, then I hope you will reapply, because as to have gone this far, the USNA must really want you.

Thank you so much for the boost of encouragement. I think it is a bit more crazy for us as we are in a category all of our own as DS is technically not on a waitlist, just no mans land.

Either way, he has already submitted the preliminary application just to be on the ball for round 2 if it is needed:thumb:

So as we wait, just a bit of a historical trivia game. We are the direct descendants of the family that owned "Folly on the Hudson". What is it today?:thumb::cool::thumb:

Just another day in paradise...

Well...

Being a kid from NY and loving history if it is the same Folly on the Hudson I know of I believe it has something to do with some cat that did something with the military during the civil war.

My grandfather was a hardcore Englisnman...he took me all over NY giving me lessons from Leeds England to the deep history of NY, Boston & the civil war. I think I know more about Winston Churchill and the civil war so I could be very wrong. If it is in fact the Hudson I know of there are some really cool historical things along the Hudson that are not taught any more. Am I even close to being right?

Good try, but it is a location not a act or thing.

is this it?

"Richard Channing Moore was born on August 21, 1762 in New York City. At the outset of the Revolutionary War the family removed from the city to the family estate called "Moore's Folly" on the Hudson River at West Point.
