My son received his scholarship from the 3rd board in March, but still has not received the award in the mail...here we are in May.

Anyone know how long after acceptance of scholarship until you receive the DODMERB communication? I can't recall how long afterward when my daughter received notice (she won a 3-year back in 2020). My son reached out to his ROO, but crickets so far on a response.

My son is attending Citadel with a 3-year. Already accepted the scholarship and designated Citadel which was his top choice. From someone who took their ROTC scholarship to Norwich and who's son is taking his ROTC scholarship to Citadel....here is my comparison: Location - VT is beautiful, but harsh. PT, parades, and walking to class (uphill and downhill) during half of the school year is tough...also hard to keep...

Was the financial package offered before or after they knew about the ROTC award? If they are joining the Corps of Cadets at A&M, there may be a special financial package offered for the Freshman year for 3-year scholarship winners which my son will be taking. Citadel offers such a thing like VT...

Agree...our son was the same. Took him to several college visits, not including the ones he attended when his sister went through the process. Nothing fancied him. He started getting more involved and enthusiastic in his JROTC program so I suggested visiting the Citadel. He knew of my stories...

My son also was accepted to Charleston Southern, but was accepted at the 'del back in August and ignored all the other college letters coming in....hope that all of our scholarship kids connect...looking at the kids on the Class of 2028 Facebook page for the 'del - pretty high caliber...

Yes...CSI bound as well. If you have not registered for the Citadel Class of 2028 Facebook page I would highly recommend. We are already starting to get to know everyone in this year's class.

We just checked the portal and my son won a 3 year! Citadel-bound for sure!! Proud of him...and yes, the red banner stays on. He was not going to check his status when he saw the banner, but when I told him to check the status tab he found the yellow "Winner" box.

Yes. The student has to foot the bill somehow for the first year and then contract will kick in for the second year. My daughter, a 3yr, was awarded financial aid by the school which helped for the first year. We also had to front the money for the 1st semester of her 2nd year and then...
