A number of cadets will have only 1 semester left when the cutoff hits in Tennessee. Really rough.......
I would imagine if their current 104r shows that they have more time left than the 2 years (4 semesters) left in the program, they will have the ability to transfer their scholarship (or finish their MS5 year) at another school.
Within the UT and TBR systems, there are plenty of students who change campuses without losing degree progress. And even finishing the last semester at another school is more common than you might think (the degree being granted from the original school).
Not easy, but it is very important that if they want to continue ROTC that they contact an advisor from their school and perhaps have that advisor network to other state schools, research their transfer options NOW and get their 104r up to date based upon where options exist for them to complete their degree. Yes, it is a bit more planning and reduces course scheduling flexibility (you will want to leave courses that are easy to pick up anywhere for that last semester if you are going 4.5 years), but it can be done.
