About to leave Fort Knox, KY after seeing my DS graduate Advanced Camp. They host a great event...brief but very compelling. Had a great briefing yesterday from Colonel Smith at Family Day. He was very impressed with the group and relayed some great stats. 90% passed the course out of roughly 650 total cadets. The prevailing feedback is “arrive in very good shape”...apparently if you do not fare well on the first APFT, you retake it a few weeks into the FTX (at which point you’ve been sleeping in the Kentucky hot/humid woods with MRE’s and other eval’s that may wear you down). Not an ideal “re-test” situation and some were sent home after re-testing.
I also met a parent or two from this forum while at Family Day. Can’t thank everyone enough for all the help, guidance, and support over the years. Hard to believe I have an MSIV who seems to be on a great spot for commissioning into one of his top choices. Hit me up via PM of you should have any questions. I learned a lot while here and happy to share.
Go Army!
