2 Questions. Grades + leaving campus

I know it was an observation, but Hornet is correct.

Look at it from a different view. The AFA decided that out of the @10K people opening candidate files, you were one that they thought would be able to graduate. Very rarely will any higher education institute accept the maybe. When they offer you an appt they expect that the probability of you graduating is very likely.

The AF is a big boy/girl world. Making excuses that it comes easier to others and harder for you is not viewed as a rational reason, because it will open up more doors for questions.

Why didn't you study more...answer is either you put your self before service by wanting to do what you wanted to do (not good) or you are spending all of your life studying and you aren't grasping it (not good either, since as you progress the classes progress in difficulty)

Either of those answers will not calm the fears and concerns of the academic board.

BTW I highlighted self before service to stress that it is the other way around in the military service before self

Yes, Pima.

Thanks.

"Hornet, sorry.

You're all right.

We should be focused more on our schoolwork. I would hate to lose my appointment with only having a couple of months left of school."

As i said before my grades are up now. But I have abother Q.

I graduate on June 19th and on the slim chance that I actually have a transcript to bring with me on I day will the Academy really say "Go home"? and what if they dont get my transcript until haveway through BCT?

Again i dont forsee this being an issue, Im just curious.

they know that a lot of people graduate late. just get your school to send it..

this could be from bad memory, but i dont remember them taking my final transcript on i-day, so no worries

One suggestion for I-day. HOPEFULLY; EVERYTHING that you had to mail or fax to the academy during your application process, you made a copy of. FWIW; I told my son that when it comes to the military, documentation is EVERYTHING. He brought a folder with him that had his copy of EVERYTHING he had to fill out and send. Especially shot records/immunization. He thought I was being an overprotective and anal retentive dad. But on his 1st postcard home, he thanked me. There were 3 different things that they couldn't find or didn't have their copy of for him. 1 was the immunization. He said; "No problem"; here's a copy". Life went so much smoother in-processing. One of the cadets next to him they also didn't have his immunization record. Of course for him, the academy ALSO said; "No problem, ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES". My son smiled. Same with some other paper work. So, my suggestion is to have a copy of EVERYTHING. Then make a 2nd copy. Leave a copy of EVERYTHING at home; and take a copy of EVERYTHING with you. It's not that much paperwork, and it can possibly save you a lot of headaches. Just one of a million things I learned spending 21 years in the Air Force. Good luck. Mike.....

thanks. I definetly want to bring my paperwork.
What exactly should I bring?
My entire medical file...?

If you've got your medical file, then DEFINITELY bring it. However; if you're getting it from a local doctor, just tell them you want a COPY of your medical records. They probably wouldn't give you the original anyway. I'm military, so the military base had my son's. They just made us a copy (Which I made another copy to keep at home); and my son took a copy with him. The base/academy said they'd just transfer his records down there. They didn't. It was nice for him to have a complete copy.

Other than that; if you have ANYTHING related to the academy that requires a signature of has your personal information on it, then bring it. Keep a 100% copy of everything to leave with your parents.

According to the Instructions booklet, the medical record is needed for cadets from military families only.

That made me laugh:shake:

No military member ever goes anywhere without their medical records in hand...checklist:
1. ORDERS
2. MEDICAL RECORDS
3. GAS IN CAR
4. KIDS
5. PETS

Then everynight at the hotel you re-check to make sure you have your orders and the medical records...you never re-check for the kids or the pets, b/c you can in-process without them, but not the medical records or orders:eek:

what are our orders? Is it our acceptance package, or something we will get later. My dad told me about how his orders for ROTC never reached him, so he had to convince the pilot to fly him to the bigger airport without them . I suppose that won't happen, since I already have my plane ticket.

you wont get any "orders" before i day. you're not in the military.

you'll get your ticket.. that's pretty much it.
