2020 Appointments

DS just got an LOA. Only thing outstanding is medical. Says it has to be done by Feb 1 or offer may no longer be valid. We have been given no indication by doctors that there are any issues. Is there any way to goose DoDMERB or at least let admissions know it's out of our hands?

Did he have his physical? We got a notification from USNA that it wasn't done when it was. A quick call to the provider and they fixed it.

When was his physical? What does his portal say for medical? If he is waiting on a waiver, that is in USNA's hands. I would check all the portals (USNA and DoDMERB) first and see what they say, then call his admissions counselor to give them an update on his physical. It might just be DoDMERB hasn't processed it.

He called DoDMERB. They asked for records on a minor track injury he had. Should be ok. When I re-read the LOA it actually says everything other than medical requirements have to be done by 2/1, so he should be ok. Thanks.

Portal just says to check DoDMERB site for status, so I think they just haven't made a determination. Not a waiver situation as far as I know. At least not yet.

My son is just waiting!!! No word on anything yet. Wish they wouldn't keep people hanging for so long.
Yes the waiting is horrible, worst part my in~laws told the whole world! Pray we hear this week can't wait another weekend

Thanks. I think he'll be ok. He's run 500-600 miles since the doctor's visit with no issues, many of them competitively, so we're not that worried.

As I reflect on it, it seems a little cheeky for the SAs to insist on athletic kids and then have such tight medical requirements. All serious athletes are banged up a bit at one point or another. I guess they just want to be sure there's nothing chronic that requires regular specialized treatment or is significantly limiting.

I have a nom, but I don't have an LOA or an appointment yet. My portal still says "Complete Pending Review" even though I had my app and everything in mid-November.
