I see the term "3Q" used frequently here. Can someone clarify its meaning? I assume it refers to official qualification, but aside from official notification of scholastically qualified, what are the other 2 areas and do you typically receive official notification of qualifying in those areas?

Physically (CFA) and medically (DoDMERB). Most get scholastically qualified letters, some get 3Qed ones. I have never figured out the rhyme or reason of it. BGO can tell you if you've passed the CFA and of course the DodMERB website is the source for your medical quals.

Mystery solved. Thx! Sounds like we're almost good to go. Received the scholastically qualified letter last week, took care of the CFA at summer seminar, and just took the medical exams last week (went well so should be fine).

Next step is my interview with my congressman next week. Sounds pretty competitive here with 60 on his list, but can't get one if you don't step up and give it your best.

    Thanks again!

BGOs can't tell you if you've passed the CFA. We know if you've taken it and, if you tell us your results, can give you a good idea whether or not you've passed. But, unless I've missed something, USNA doesn't give us your results (for privacy reasons). USNA can tell you whether or not you've passed.

I have sent you a PM telling you how to find this and other valuable information in your BGIS. Just checked on the status of a couple of my candidates yesterday so I know it works. CGO set this up about four years ago specifically to keep candidates from calling Admissions just to find out their CFA results.

Doesn't USNA tell you if you failed? Is it safe to assume, then, that if you don't get a "you failed!" letter that you passed?
