Which company?
I don't think we should be posting specific company names on this forum.
Which company?
Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. tomorrow
Nope - Just the mids. After plebe year they also don't send you the grades. Just saw a FB rant from DS to the effect that he keeps getting error messages when he tries to access his grades - and by the time it's fixed his ship will be out of range for him to go online.I feel like I should know this, being an old-timer now that "we've" survived 5 tris at KP... But I don't ... Can we check grades online or just the mids?
DS is making up some sea days this week so we haven't heard from him.
I agree with cmakin ... zombo year was definitely the easiest. 1st quarter (we were on a quarter system then) was the moderately difficult to get through but after that it was all downhill through license exams. I had very few classes after lunch and was able to join the commuter club. Could it be that I actually had something resembling a "normal" college experience for those six months?!?!?!?
On the subject of Mids leaving and statistics.....does anyone have any data on the percentage of female mids that have washed out in the last few classes. Our DS is not aware of any that have in '13 or '14 ....... that is probably not accurate.........but, if it is , perhaps the young ladies that take on this challenge are more focused (as a group) then their male counterparts?
I would say that is highly unlikely. It would be difficult for your son to know as he hasn't seen half of his class over this year. Also depending on which split they are this may be the first time they are back in class which means a higher likelihood of failing out as it's less common to leave due to sea year grades. As to 2014, they've only been there for two tri's.
I would say that the last statement is an inaccurate generalization/stereotype.
I don't think anyone was flaming anybody ... we actually agreed with your post that "its probably not accurate". We both were simply offering reasons why it would not be accurate and your DS not aware.
Great.....agree..... still would like to see a meaningful numerical response.
I crunched some numbers for my son's class.. now mind you he graduated 6 years ago, so things might have changed a wee bit, but I would imagine they're fairly close.Anecdotally, in my DS's circle, I know of at least one female setback plebe year and one female disenrollment after first sea year for class of 2013.
