Do we have to send in 8th semester transcripts? I am not asking so I can see if I can slack off, the issues is that my school doesn't get out until June 26 and it takes 5 to 7 days to get transcripts out so I might not even know my grades until I am already at beast (if I get an appointment) and I can not possibly be the only kid in this situation, so is this something I need to worry about?

8th Semester Grades

When my boys played baseball and were practicing their swing. I remember their coach telling them to follow through with the swing, just as hard as you started. This is what will get the ball over the outfield fence.

The offer may have a condition attached or you want to demonstrate that you can follow through. They will probably ask for that info, so be prepared. Until then don't cheat yourself from the study skills, time management skills, and personal goals.

Follow through and get it over the fence!

I do plan on finishing strong (I might even be valedictorian) but I might not receive my grades until after R-Day and I don't know if that will be an issue or not.

My DS is in the same spot. I don't think it will be an issue. Just keep the GPA so you can validate classes at WP.

Good Luck, in the coming week.

Yes, you will send in your 8th semester transcript. Once you accept your offer of admission, you will have many forms to fill out and either return to West Point or bring with you on R-Day. There is a form that requests your final transcript---you will leave that at your school and they will send it on to WP once it becomes available. The information that my cadet had from several years ago does say that your academic record must be on file in the Admissions Office prior to R-Day.

Other forms that you will work on will be your police record check, immunization form, your R-Day travel info, etc.

Talk to them...

DS1 had a similar issue. He received his appointment, but our district doesn't get transcripts out until the middle of July. He personally went to the county office and spoke with the administrator who was responsible for issuing transcripts. He explained the situation, time constraint, and the unique opportunity he had in attending West Point. She put him on "rush" status once grades were verified. She sent official transcripts to West Point in the official gray envelope, gave him an official transcript (which we overnighted to West Point), and then he hand-carried an official copy for R-day.

If you receive an appointment, I would encourage you to make an appointment and talk with the administration who would issue the official transcripts!
