I am looking for information for Acceptance Day. The USAFA website states that the parade will be closed to the public this year. Does this mean that it is also closed to parents/family? Will we be able to have lunch with our DS? We live in Wisconsin and are working on booking flights. Thank you

Before Covid, I do believe families could attend the parade. Then you could maybe have a couple of hours with your cadet. That's it. If you're looking for bang for your travel buck, then saving your travel for parents' weekend is recommended. Some families did come out for it. Last year, with Covid, families weren't allowed to attend the event and the cadets weren't allowed to leave to see family. They did put a recording of the parade for families to stream on YouTube. I'm not sure how A-Day will work this year.

Unfortunately, the websites may be out of date so it's difficult to determine if the policy applies to this year, or if it's a hold over form a previous year. Some announcements specify the year, but not all. We're waiting for clarification as well.

If you get the chance and can afford it then it is worth going. We were able to watch the march back from Jack’s Valley, see the parade and spend a few hours with our son. We went to his room and met quite a few of his friends, many of whom will be at his wedding this year, 8 years later.
