Good evening!

DD and I were talking today and she noticed the deadline for applications is March 1 for Class of 2028. Is this a change? (We've been working towards a February 1 deadline....) We're awaiting her final semester grades and they won't be ready until the last week of January and our state is still doing their Senatorial interviews; so a "bit of cushion" would be nice.

Also, since we're coming down to the wire in our state, should we ask Admissions if we need to be proactive and possibly request for DD to be considered by Secretary Buttigieg's Office for consideration?

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Has your daughter exhausted all senator and congressional nominations in your state? Often times other congress members don’t use all their nominations and therefore you may be able to pick one up from one not in your district. Have had several friends kids who did that and even late in process.

Excellent point. Let’s hope the candidate has applied to more than one District Representative, or could be working the phones to look for unused USMMA noms, a nice option to have. USMMA doesn’t have the Presidential or other service-related noms, but does have this unique path.

For lurking readers, from the USMMA website:

She still has one more Senatorial interview this weekend. She's being forward thinking and it freaked her out that she saw others in our state have already recieved their nominations. We're doing our best to keep her spirits up.

Thanks for your inputs!
