On December 30th, I received a principal nomination from my congressman to the Naval Academy. Around this time, I received an email from the admissions office stating that a decesion would be made on my file once my 7th semester grades were sent in. My 7th semester grades were processed by USNA on Wednsday, February 19th. Any idea on when I should hear from the Naval Academy? Thanks.

Any chance that I will hear sooner? My regional director informed me that the Admissions Board would wait for me to send in my transcript, which was processed on 2/19. Does this mean that USNA is on the lookout for my transcript?

Of course you could hear sooner but there is no way to know. Finding out anytime before April 15th would be thrilling for all of the long suffering posters but remember the goal is the appointment and not necessarily when it arrives. You made it this far and you are still in the game so hang in there and be patient. FYI, one of the mottos of the Navy is "Hurry up and wait".

Thank you for the information and advice. Are appointments sent out on a weekly basis?

I know you are anxious, but you have 2 threads going here plus you are asking these same questions on facebook and everyone has told you as much as they know. You will find out between now and April 15th. With a principal NOM, it'll probably be sooner but no one here knows for sure and admissions is obviously not going to tell you anything more definite than that either.

Take a deep breath, go run three miles and enjoy your senior year!

    Good luck!!

If you have a principal nom and you are qualified medically and with your CFA, it sounds like USNA is waiting on your 7th semester grades to (help) determine if you are qualified scholastically. They may also look at improved SAT/ACT (if applicable).

My gut feel is that you will hear sooner than April 15 because of your principal nom. You don't need to compete with the national pool -- it's a thumbs up or down based on your qualifications. Thus, it becomes the simple matter of how long after your grades are received that they get to your file. No one can predict that.

Also, I'm sorry that I am posting so much. I'm really anxious and nervous about this whole situation.

+1 navymomwannabe. Nothing can be done but wait, and if possible, give any good updates to the Academy. We are all waiting together.

Yeah, we got it! But nothing can be done about it. So take deep breaths (use a brown paper bag if necessary), relax, exercise, and have fun. This will happen over and over again in your career or wherever you end up. All you can do is do your best and patiently wait. Exercise is the best remedy and will make you stronger. Cold showers sometime help!
