I've heard that recently, even Army ROTC hasn't gotten many slots for these schools. Would it be realistic to get a slot as an AFROTC cadet? I'm going to try to get one, regardless of what responses I get, but I want to hear about others' experiences with school slotting.

Not realistic from AFROTC to attend Army training courses like Airborne, Air Assault, or Sapper. Very few even from AD AF attend those courses. I can think of very few operational requirements for AF officers to be qualified in any of the three. As an AF liaison to an Army unit as a young officer you might get an Airborne slot.... think of the AF units supporting the 82nd on Ft Bragg.

This website says AD AF can attend Airborne and Jumpmaster https://www.myairforcebenefits.us.a...-Benefits/Specialized-Skills-Training?serv=26 Though realize these type of websites can be recruiting initiatives rather than open to all.

AF Academy cadets get the chance to do jump school only because they are on active duty and have to fill up their summers with some type of training. The only AF Officers that need airborne qualification are Combat Rescue and Special Tactics Officers; sapper and air assault are Army specialties that the Air Force can't justify spending money for.
