AFROTC EA due date

What actions do we need to take before FT? Do you have to get a physical if you have dodmerb? Does it need to be before school is over or just before your max?

You should have done all of your medical stuff already - if not your cadre will let you know. The only two thinsg that has been done previously in our Det before leaving for SFT is a bag drag and PFA to ensure we were still physically fit to go.

Goodluck to everyone :thumb:

Just want to pass advice along to all those cadets out there and parents that can pass along to their sons/daughters. Once EAs come out and they basically know their orders and what not, please refrain from talking about the specifics on social media, especially joining those MAX groups on Facebook. Join those groups AFTER you come back from Field Training.

This has been stressed so much at my DET by POC and cadre, because they don't us to get into trouble and singled out specifically while at FT if we go. Because they've seen and witnessed it happen.

Be smart! :shake:

You are in fact right about cadets being singled out, but only if they smoke and joke on these facebook groups pre-FT. I was in these groups and never engaged in the casual "convos" they were having on there and only posted relevant information like people asking clarifications on the FTM, topics about correct folding techniques, and helping one another out with questions regarding the FTM/AM. The word of advice is to cadets who want to join these groups, do so in a professional and academic manner and just know that you are being watched at all times, especially since social media is so prevalent in this century.

But, if cadets do decide to use it casually, being singled out at FT isn't something that rarely happens because cadets will have a million opportunities to put that upon themselves at FT.

This sound like a stupid question...but who else but me to ask it -

If the facebook/social media groups are closed then how does the cadre at SFT know who is posting what?

Plenty of CTA's get access to the FB page. When they get matched up with their FTO, information flows freely...

Haha It wouldn't be the cadre but the CTAs instead. CTA's will find ways to get into them. It's kind of hard to monitor hundreds of cadets at a time in a group to try to filter out "fake" 200s and 250s so there will always be hidden POCs in those groups.

Most are closed groups, but there is an open forum on Facebook that I'm sure is closely monitored by POC. As for the closed pages, the POC are a sneaky and well connected group chalk full of Techies . We have a group that got hacked by a POC who got in and changed the description of the group to some spiel about 200s worshiping POC yet not being capable of such awesomeness or something lol. It was pretty funny, we all laughed about it, it's not like we talk about anything that would make our life at FT Hell anyways, just a way to quickly communicate for ROTC stuff, share memes, make announcements, etc. Many cadets create Facebook groups for their class once they become 200s, they have been doing this for years. As long as you conduct yourself accordingly and in general just don't act like an arrogant imbecile and you won't have anything to worry about.

Same concept applies to new appointees to the academy, it's fine to be on social media, just don't act like a tool while you're there.

I take it that "tool" wasn't a typo for "fool".....

I find it so weird that we haven't gotten any information (or even rumors) recently.

Reviewing the thread from last and previous years, it seems the cadets were consistently more informed by Cadre that results were still delayed or how the figures might look.

Am I the only one who feels left in the dark?

Could be that after last year they decided to stop speculating. The results are not going to change whether they were announced yesterday, today, tomorrow or next week.

Like my DS say's to me.....it'll happen when it happens......and then you'll know...

Sounds kind of lame.....but in Matt's defense... absolutely 100% accurate.

Welcome to the start of the "real" hurry up and wait. It only gets worse because the ones to follow are career changing.

It happens when it happens. Hard to accept 8 know, but in hindsight next year when you are awaiting your AFSC boards, or later while you wait to find out your first station, or later while you wait to start life in the AF :shake:

We were told last night that numbers will come out tonight, so there is a good likelihood that cadets will find out by Friday.

If that is the case, it should be tomorrow that this board lights up. As I said earlier, I have never seen any board, ROTC or AD that releases earlier than Thursday.

My hopes, wishes, thoughts and prayers are with everyone of you. Good luck and thank You.

I got word from my commander that they said that they had a date but he wouldn't tell us when that was because he didn't want us disappointed if they didn't come out then. Seems like the date was for sometime this week though...hopefully it's for real this time!

With multiple reports from different cadets from different Det's, looks like this is the week! The wait is almost over, good luck to all competing. Can't wait to see what the percentages really are and how the rated twist played a part in selection. Here's hoping for high numbers.

+1 fingers crossed What will be will be
