Hello,
One question that I was asked on the AROTC interview is about a particular time that I displayed leadership, as a leader of a sports team. In the moment that question really caught me off guard, but I was able to remember something on the spot. PM me if you have any more questions I went through the AROTC interview, and I have a sister who went through the AFROTC interview, so feel free to ask me questions!!

I think the best way to prepare is to know current events -- be able to answer what is going on in the world -- and to know yourself.
Be able to answer why you want to serve as an officer in the USAF or the military.
Be able to explain what you have done to prepare, and what matters to you.
BTW -- this can be hard. Do some thinking on it. Be truthful and sincere with yourself and you will do fine with your interview.

The main objective of the AFROTC interview is to see if you are mature. To measure this, they will not only ask situational questions but questions regarding leadership. I didn't get a question asking why I want to serve as an officer but rather numerous questions about diversity, integrity, and leadership.
Be on time. I got there five minuets early after a 5 hour drive (had to leave at 4 in the morning) then I couldn't find the building. There was NO way I was gonna be late after all that so I called the detachment and told them. The guy who interviewed me came out and showed me in. He said he was impressed by my style and commitment to be punctual. The questions are loaded. If you listen carefully it is easy to figure out what answers they want. The guy who interviewed me made fun of this and the only serious questions were about desire to serve. They don't expect you to have the military bearing down but don't call them dude. I accidental did (being from California) He just made fun of me for it and told me I would get my but kicked if I didn't fix it in the future. Despite having slightly below average stats I got a type seven scholarship in any major. Be yourself and know why you want to serve.

KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO DO! If you don't know what you want to do, research and find something that looks interesting.
I was caught off guard and managed to stutter out "uh, uh, drone pilot?" I didn't even know the correct term for that (RPA). So look up AFSCs in the Air Force, and know a little something about it. That shows initiative and proves that you are actually interested in the AF, and not just in it for the money.
