AFROTC Type 7 Scholarship

It sounds like he was NOMINATED for an In College Scholarship for Phase II last year. Those were never awarded. There are none for Phase I of this year either.

If he receives an enrollment allocation, then he will receive the $300/mo stipend but no scholarship. He will contract though.
 
chelleinmd, I deal with MOCs on a very regular basis. I recommend that you speak with the detachment yourself and obtain quadruple confirmation of the facts as you have stated them before contacting your MOC. You can PM me if you want.
 
I concur with southmom, this does not appear to be a type 1,2 or 7.

If you look through the bowels of this forum, somewhere last spring (late) or early summer. The AF did indeed announce a freeze on the In College scholarships for FY10-11. I know for a cadet at our DS's school they were called in by command and informed of this before the end of the school yr last yr.

It was also announced the cutting of OTS (non-rated) at the same time, plus how cadets under a 3.0 gpa at certain dets., were being handed walking papers. This was no shocker to anyone affiliated with the AF since they had also announced a huge RIF if not enough company grade officers Voluntarily separated under the VSP.
