Hey, senior in AFROTC here. Anyone know anything about AFSC results? I was told they were projected to be released today, but I haven't heard anything since.
Should be any time now. My DS (junior) told me that their Cadre told them last week that results should be out within the next couple of weeks. If you don't mind me asking, when did you put in your AFSC preference sheet? My DS should be doing that pretty soon. Also what was your choices?
Really? My DS said that his Cadre said that they would be putting in their preference sheet next semester (Spring of Junior year). How many choices do you have to put down, just 3? His first two preferences are Intel and Cyber, not sure of any others right now.
Is a supplemental board or did this year did they back up the release date? I thought non-rated typically results were released late Sept/early October.

Like with everything in AFROTC, the release date came and went, cadets waiting for the AFSCs were told to hold on a few more weeks like 2-3 weeks ago. Results may be released today, or they might tell them to wait 2 more weeks. Nobody knows for sure.
If I recall correctly isn't this the year group that they are told Reserve and Guard for the first time in the mix?
If so, than it makes sense that the release has been pushed back....mainly because this is the first time in recent history that they have to figure out to how to place this in the equation.
Off topic, but it will be interesting to see how many cyber slots and Intels drop. It use to be that the rated students that washed out of UPT typically went Intel, but a few of my DSs friends at UPT were sent cyber or space because they were told Intel was 100%+ manned. A groomsmen at his wedding in May that washed out this past March and he was sent to space....it was his number three choice.
My DS told me the same thing a few weeks ago about the reserve/guard option being cancelled for the FY15 class. I'm sure this made alot of cadets very happy. Not sure how this will affect FY16, but since their class had a significantly smaller SFT class (less than 1590) I wouldn't expect to see the reserve/guard option available for this year group either. I'm hoping someone posts the AFSC drop list once it comes out to see in what direction the AF is heading.
My DS's Det results: one Nurse, one Contracting, two Cyber, one Space, one Missle, a Civil Engineer, a Electrical Engineer, and one Logistical Readiness. Nine Non Rated Cadets total with a wide variety of AFSC's. Good luck to those waiting to hear.
Got Logistics/Readiness myself. At first I was bummed at not getting an Intel slot, where a few cadets with much lower GPA/overall standing than myself receiving the slot made me feel down, but I've realized that this job is critical to the mission and will present a rich opportunity for gaining leadership skills.
Hope everyone is happy with what they got!
(P.S. Would anyone with any knowhow with Logistics like to chime in to further put the job into perspective? I admittedly did less research on it compared to others.)
Happy to announce that I received an intel slot. Another friend of mine was 1 of 20 cadets to receive a OPEX program slot. Hope everyone else receives their good news soon!
Most of my friends from different detachments have gotten their afsc's as well. I was notified the next day after the first announcements started coming in.
