Air Assault

any tips for a MS1 going to air assault this summer at fort campbell
Search this site for the word Air Assault. A similar question was asked a few weeks ago. Some old information - I'm old. Ensure you have everything on the packing list and that it is clean and organized. The obstacle course is one of the first culling events - climb a rope, weaver, .... Study and practice with others in your time off during the course for sling load procedures and other technical requirements. You can do anything for 14 days... keep that in your mind. Talk to other cadets in your unit that have attended in the last few years.

Have an Air Assault qualified Officer/NCO check your form on the obstacles. There is a some technique to a few of them. If you are reasonably fit and can do the ruck, knock out pull ups and climb a rope it isnt a physically demanding course.

Dont overthink the slingload or rappel techniques. The course is designed to show you how to pass the tests. Just be open to the instructions and have fun.

If you are staying in post lodging and can get authorized to drive yourself I would recommend that. Walking to the school or even chow from lodging isnt a great option.

Seek assignment then back to Campbell. I spent 10 years there and loved the units and the mission.
