Anyone else waiting to hear from USNA STEM?

DS applied the first day and have not heard either way. Anyone else in same boat or know when we might hear something?

DS (rising Sophomore) applied January 5 and still waiting to hear. He did receive an "application received" e-mail after he submitted his application which stated he would be notified by 4/28. He attended summer STEM as a rising Freshman last summer so we are not sure of chances on acceptance a second year but we gave it a try after he enjoyed the program so much. I suppose we continue to wait a few more days...good luck to you all!

Same. My DS applied on 2/7 with email confirmation and he's anxiously waiting. We're from CA and if he gets in on STEM, he'll have to buy airline ticket. It would be nice to know soon for early booking. He's also going to Annapolis for the USNA Summer Baseball.

Same here! My son found out about the program late, so did not apply until the first week of March. Saw that some applicants were already being notified at that time. Hoping we hear back soon either way (they said by the end of April).

We are still anxiously waiting to hear as well. Asked the BGO and he is also unsure of

Umm I don't recall getting an application received email. Did the parent get the email also or just the student? We did get a message when we submitted the application that said "Success your application has been submitted" (we kept a screenshot). Not that is matters at this point but would kinda stink after all this time to figure out his app was never in.

I, the parent, did not get the email, but my DS did.

DS got the "application received" e-mail, I (mom) did not get a copy of that. My understanding is as long as you got the screen "success your application has been submitted" then all is well - they have it.

We are still impatiently waiting for an acceptance or decline e-mail...I've refreshed e-mail screens more times than I care to admit today. Figured we'd know before the weekend - but I suppose there is still time.

Thank you I’m just overthinking it. I’m with you, at this point we are assuming it’s a No and registering for Encampment with CAP

I knoww… I just wish we had an answer already. It looks like in the past people had gotten in off the waitlist later on.

Oh gosh, me too.

Did you get a copy of this too or just DS? I guess the rest of us who haven’t heard anything yet were rejected but haven’t been emailed yet
Actually, for some reason the email didn’t go through but the rejection letter was received by my son 21 hours ago. At least now we have an answer and can plan for the summer accordingly

DS got his rejection yesterday 4/26 also. He just told me.
My son was a little disappointed, but I encouraged him to work harder and to remember what has been said on other forums about USNA Summer Stem being an outreach program. Luckily we have other camps available to us, though he would have loved to do this one. Good luck to your son in the future and maybe we can try again next year!

I did not receive a copy of the email. DS received the letter and forwarded to me.

DS applied for Summer STEM at West Point in 2022 and again in 2024 and got rejected.
DS also applied for Summer STEM at USNA in 2024 - still on the Waitlist.

DD (currently in 6th grade) applied for Summer STEM at West Point for this 2024 year. She got accepted. She will be attend the Middle School STEM at West Point on June 3-7. She will be excused for missing school that week.

Email from West Point below.

Congratulations! You've been chosen from among hundreds of applicants to participate in the 2024 West Point MS STEM Workshop from 3-7 June 2024. Be proud of your selection-it's a direct result of your hard work and accomplishments.

This MS STEM Workshop is especially designed for students entering 7th and 8th grades who demonstrate strong interest and skills in science, technology, engineering and math. You will be working with USMA faculty from Physics, Behavioral Sciences, Math, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and more. You will also be learning leadership skills from cadets West Point feels that the sooner young people are introduced to these areas, the better they can prepare for future STEM pathways including admission to West Point and other tier one colleges and universities.

You will receive an email with a registration packet and travel grant information sheet. Please complete and upload all forms using the registration link provided no later than 8 April 2024 to hold your spot.

If you are no longer able or do not wish to attend the West Point MS STEM Workshop, please notify us by email as soon as possible. This will allow us to offer another student on the stand-by list an opportunity to attend the STEM Workshop.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with ANY questions or concerns. We're looking forward to seeing you on 3 June 2024! Again, CONGRATULATIONS!!
Thanks,
The USMA STEM Team
