My DS was offered the AOG/WPPSP scholarship last week. He is currently the recipient of a 3-year AROTC scholarship as well. If he chooses the WPPSP and preps, does he still retain his AROTC scholarship - by just transferring it to the junior military college he chooses?

I don't know if this answers your question, but the national 3-year scholarship doesn't start until the second year in the program. So wouldn't that make it a moot point, assuming he moves on to WP after the one year prep?

@franknd Absolutely a great point… I’m assuming that’s how it works too. Just seeing if others here took Civil Prep and what happened with the AROTC scholarship.

I would recommend contacting the Army ROTC unit at the school where he will prep and asking them this question. If he preps at a school that doesn't have Army ROTC, then ask Cadet Command if he can "defer" entry to ROTC for a year while he preps for WP.

After my DS accepted his AOG scholarship he relinquished his ROTC scholarship so another applicant could benefit from it.
