When the CGA says they will give out decisions on December 23, will all the decisions be released that day or is that the latest you can hear back from them? For example, does it work like one student can receive a decision in November, while another student can receive one in December. Thank you!

DS received e-mail from USCGA today which I believe answers your question (see below). Based on e-mail applicants can begin receiving notifications about admission decision in early November through Dec. 24.

Thank you for completing your application to the United States Coast Guard Academy. Your record has been scheduled for review in Early Action and will be forwarded to the Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board in the next two weeks. Please contact me at XXXX@uscga.edu as soon as possible if you do not wish to be evaluated in Early Action.

Decisions will normally begin to be published on a rolling basis in early November and all Early Action applicants will be notified of their admission decision no later than December 24th. Please contact LTJG XXXX at XXXX@uscga.edu if you have any questions about our review or selection process and contact your Admissions Officer if you have any questions about or just want to discuss the Academy

You said the email came today, but do you remember when the application was submitted? We're wondering if it's immediate or some time after submitting the application.

All these people going for EA who got an e-mail saying that the review is in two weeks, quick question. Have you all finished your Dodmerb already? Our kids must finish Dodmerb before 12/24 to get full appointment, right? Otherwise, conditional or do they wait for Dodmerb results? We're uncertain about the order and timing.

We have same question. Got our log in for DoDMERB but does it need to be complete before an appointment and if so does that mean we need to try and get earliest one possible so all can be done and get decision before December 24?

Decisions will be given out without DoDMERB being complete but they will be conditional on a successful DoDMERB. Reason why a candidate wants to get DoDMERB done sooner than later is so that there is more time to do appeals if required and it also proves they can accept the appointment if their application is still under review. It would also help a candidate that might get put on the waitlist since CGA admissions would know they are medically qualified. Even though a candidate has until end of May next year to pass DoDMERB (assuming they accept appointment by May 1st) it can take a while when it comes to appeals for the paperwork to be reviewed. In June, they release the incomplete or failed DoDMERB openings to the waitlist.

USCGA application (candidate part) was completed 8/28/2016. Body Weight info submitted in September. Letters of Rec were submitted in Sept, except for letter from Math teacher which which was completed 1st week of October.

DD application was completed in full, including letters of rec and passing Dodmerb, on August 25th but has not received email that her file will be reviewed.

What did the bears den log in say? Is everything checked off? Ours changed to completed - in review yesterday. We just submitted application on 10/11

We got the email you are asking about within hours of having everything submitted.

I believe that my cadet did not receive an email stating when her file will be reviewed. She knew it was reviewed when she received her acceptance right before Thanksgiving. I think some AO's send the email and some don't. So as long as you are positive that the application is complete, I wouldn't worry about the lack of an email.

Everything is checked off and status is 'Application Complete -Ready for Review' (since August). I'm sure review will happen soon. Was just curious as some have gotten emails.

That's great. It's stressful enough without lost emails. :)

I submitted my application yesterday and it says "application status: submitted" however I did not receive the email you copied above. Is there a problem?

I'm sure it will come as long as the rest of your items are in like recommendations and scores.

In the Bear's den it says 'application complete- ready for review', however I did not receive an email that my application will be evaluated for Early Action. Is there a problem? Everything has been submitted well before the October 15 deadline

Did you apply for EA? I believe there was an option to select EA on your application.
