This may seem over detailed, but I have noticed that everything sent and received from the Academy throughout the candidate process was listed on the CIS site. You were able to verify receipt by the Academy of each of your required submittals. The Dodmerb site also had updated information.
After recieving the coveted blue folder the instructions within contain requirements for returning the form with the box checked for acceptance or not to the Academy. It also provides the forms for your local law enforcement to send directly to the Academy. They even have you send proof of citizenship in the form of a birth certificate and you can provide a self addressed envelope for the return of the original copy.
Perhaps having become used to seeing verification makes me want to continue to watch for the same. However it has now been almost 1 1/2 months since the acceptance and nothing is showing on the CIS site other than the same information from the time of appointment. The DODMERB does say offer extended but makes no reference to accepted. I have read many difficult stories on this forum of I day rushing around trying to secure the proper documents. I am aware that a full package is sent sometime in April with respect to I Day.
I am just wondering if anyone else is aware of their status after the appointment offer, and does the Navy CIS ever change to reflect acceptance by the candidate? My son wrote his RD with the question about 4 weeks ago and was told that if nothing changed on CIS by mid January to check back. He hates to bother him with something if it may be trivial.
It sure would be a comfort level to know that the appropriate forms are actually reaching the Academy and that they were checked off correctly.
I did get the birth certificate back, but it included just the document with no supporting acknowledgement.
Perhaps I am over analyzing, but you get used to the system of acknowledgment and then to receive none is concerning.
