I was informed that a friend of mine, who attends the same school as me, received an appointment to the Naval Academy just a few weeks ago. Right away I didn't believe it could be true for numerous reasons.
1. The senatorial nominations had not and are still not even out yet.
2. When I went to interview for the congressional nomination for our district, there was a list of names and I did not recognize his/hers on the list.
I've known this person was going to apply because he/she already has a sibling attending and another younger sibling who wants to follow suit. I know it is not my place to question him/her, however, in talking with him/her in the past, I just have this feeling he/she is not going with a full-heart. Again, it is not my place to call him/her out.
I guess I'll wrap this up and ask two questions:
Is it possible to attend an academy WITHOUT a nomination (I have one) or could this possibly be a LOA?
Has anyone else felt this before or am I just sounding a little bit on the jealous side?
I am ready to attend the academy 110% and as soon as I receive an appointment, my "letter of intent" will be in the mail and on its way.
