How many people really get an appointment in mid April?
Aren't we just basically waiting around for a TWE!!

April 15 IS NOT the deadline for issuing offers of appointment. It is a date that Admissions has set to notify those candidates who no longer are in the running for an offer so that they may pursue their Plans B. There still are at least 2 1/2 months remaining before the Class of 2014 is fully formed. Admissions is proceeding with all deliberate speed given the stakes.
working the numbers like crazy....2000 triple qualified w/ noms for 1500 spots. 5 SA's (USCGA does not require nom)....according to what I've been reading many applicants apply to more than one academy....I applied to three and am accepted to one. I'm surmising that those who have not yet heard but are triple qualified w/ a nom are in pretty good shape. For example, if I get accepted to X that will free up spot at Y. the question for the BGO's is how many triple qualified candidates with a nom get totally shut out? is there any data on this...
I think the question right now that everyone is asking though is how far are they in the process? How many of those 1500 appointments have already been given out? Because if it's 1200, then there are only 300 slots for the remaining 800 - much worse odds. Don't think anyone knows those answers right now - or if they do, they're not allowed to tell!

Luigi, I really think you are one of the best posters of info on this site and I find your info very helpful. But it appears that there are a percentage of triple q'd candidates with a nom who receive more than one appointment. For example, if I get appointed to all three SA's I applied to I could only choose 1. Is there any data relating to how many multiple appointed candidates there are....the later the date gets the more desperate we are for data which we could hopefully relax the thread...just a little.
thanks
