April AROTC Board

I guess the question is whether or not CC is done making offers off the April board?

PMS was supposed to call us yesterday for an update.

Had to leave a msg at CC this morning.

Good question. I've just emailed them and will post if I get a response.

I received a quick response. Not good news about the scholarship, but it gives us a definite answer on the scholarship and now we know to continue with Plan B with ROTC SMP in-state (off to Basic Training in 26 days!)

Here's contact info if anyone else needs it:

I am sorry Bryan was not awarded an Army ROTC scholarship. He can talk with the PMS of the college he will be attending and ask about a campus base scholarship.

I'm sorry your son didn't get the scholarship. I guess I'll email and ask about my son - at least I would have some closure and would stop checking the CC status site!

Good luck with Plan B!

Thanks bdamom.
Where's basic for son? Mine went to FT Jackson this last winter. It was hard not talking to him as much as we were accustomed to. He did write some great letters to us though. Was able to keep up with some of their activities because they posted info on facebook about the troops. The CO was great too because he would keep us updated as well and allow us to ask questions.
He will appreciate not having to go directly to AIT.
:smile:Sounds like a good plan.

FT Jackson is where he's going as well. Yes, AIT will be the following summer. We figure he'll love the college dorm after being in BT barracks all summer! Our son has been doing some Future Soldier activities and is excited to go to BT. Thanks for the info about facebook, we'll look forward to that.

Yes, an hour later got a voicemail from the PMS at his #1 choice school. He got it.
He has worked SO hard for 4 years, straight arrow, never gives up.
Proud papa here.

Good luck to everyone, I hope and pray all works out for those still waiting.

Congratulations!!

We didn't make it either.:frown:
Confirmed with PMS and CC.

However, one chapter done and on to the next which is competing for a campus-based scholarship.

Sorry to hear that plmmar. At least you know that now and can move on. Good luck on campus!

It would be nice if CC would post an official notice when the final final decisions are made.
Of course, at this point, everyone still waiting should definitely be contacting them directly for an answer on their situation.
And then the PMS at schools for a campus based option.

burton-try this lady at CC
she emailed me back very quickly with the response to my question.

CC will be sending us all letters. It's just nice to know now so we can move on with other plans.

Confused

The assistant PMS at son's first choice school called yesterday and spoke to my DW. She said they have offered my son a 3 year advanced scholarship. Unfortunately, my DW has not been following this process and did not know what questions to ask. When we log onto the CC status page, it says he has been awarded a scholarship to the following schools and it lists 5 schools that were on his list. There is no mention anywhere whether it is a 3 or 4 year scholarship. For those of you who have offers, where did you find out if it was a 3 year or 4 year? I am just wondering whether the first choice school is offering a campus based 3 year or if all of the schools listed will be for a nationally based 3 year? We'll be calling around on Monday to find out.

The web site does not show the type of scholarship (a glaring defect). The letter that arrives from CC does show the type of scholarship offer at each school. You can wait for that (it arrives about 2-4 days after the web site update), or contact the PMS at each school. They decided what to offer, so they definately know.

Thanks for the info. Looks like we'll be making several phone calls. The next thing is to get him medically qualified.

OMG, OMG, OMG, the status changed!! I KNOW what that means!!! I know I checked often yesterday and it was the old status. I was reading the forum today knowing my DS was not offered a scholarship and was hoping to see others here would get some. I was checking this forum today to see updates. I had no idea anything would change!!! Last month son's school told him he did NOT get scholarship and that March boards were the last ones (which the rest of US know is not true!) and that all campus based scholarships were already awarded. So does this mean that maybe he got a scholarship to the other schools he applied? He only applied and got accepted to one school. Is he able to transfer it even if he didn't apply to any other schools?

Keep checking the CC site. Usually within 24 hours or so the status will change again to list the school(s) the scholarship is at.

Or, havana, like in my son's case a few weeks back he got a letter in the mail a week later with his offer of a campus based scholarship. His status changed on a Wed. night and nothing on the web site but then got the offer and this was from a school he took off his list back in November! He had not even applied to that school. But "all is good" as we then visited the campus, applied and on our way awaiting the physcial. Can anyone tell me about this process? We were told we have to wait for the packet in the mail to schedule...has anyone been able to do it any other way....On the Dodmerb site it does not recognize him yet...again it's been 10 days since he accepted the scholarship. Thoughts?
