Army Navy Game

Navy-Army 2007 will, unfortunately, be in Baltimore. :screwy: I was really hoping it would be in Philly, because my daughter (Class of 2011 hopeful right now) was born there, and I'd like that to be my first official game.

Won't be there for 2006, yet.

After your first visit to Baltimore, you will forget your nostalgia for Philadelphia. In Baltimore, the stadium is in much closer proximity to the hotels and restaurants and the city really rolls out the red carpet. For the last game, everyone, both on the street and in all the commercial establishments were wearing "Welcome Army-Navy Fans' t-shirts. Philly is ho hum about the whole deal. After the last game there, there was a group of Woop alumni who wrote letters to The Sun editors stating they would like to get a move afoot to forego the NY USMA home game and have all non-Philly games in Baltimore. But in either place it will be a great experience for you.

If the game is going to be in baltimore so often where its closer to USNA why not have it in giants stadium more often. have it closer to USMA and alternate. But having it in philly works as its geographiclly pretty much half way between annapolis and west point.

at least it would be more easily accessable for me :shake:

Chip, You are correct. A-N has recently signed a 10 year contract with Philly and has agreed to play the majority of their games there. However, they will be playing a few home-away games in Giants stadium and in Baltimore. The point I was making above is that several WP alumni were willing to forego the Giants stadium games for an extra game in Baltimore.

The majority of the games will continue to be played in Philly.

Voila. In reference to the Army-Navy game, I think the below linked image says it all.

Fortunately, I have a better version:

Game over. Navy Wins.

Find a pic somewhere on the net that you like. Some argue (with some validity, apparently) that you should host your pic someplace you either pay for or which hosts for free due to bandwidth theft.

Anyway, find the pic, and get the location URL for it. In Firefox, you can just right-click and select "Copy Image Loacation". In Exploder, you need to right click, select "Properties", and then copy the location URL.

Come into this website and click to make a reply. You will see an icon with mountains and a moon in the toolbar above the text box. Click on it and a small box will pop up. Paste the copied URL into that box and hit ENTER.

When you post, the pic will show up.

ETA: BTW, if you have an even better version than the one above, I want it! :shake:

Gee I just found the picture I liked, right clicked on it to copy, the pasted it right here in this box, like this:

The website I inadvertently posted above in lieu of the picture has a HD version, which I think is the exact picture you posted. You might want to play with it.

Sorry I took so long to reply. I've been too busy trying to think up ways to rebut you on the terrorism thing:shake:

Here's some wallpaper you might like. VF-31 patrolling southern Iraqi no-fly zone on Thanksgiving day, 2002. It was the cover of the USNA catalog a couple of years ago. Note bomb load-out of at least one 2000 lb JDAM.

Photobucket dropped it down to 50k meg. If you want a 9mil meg version to wall paper your whole house, email me and I wll send it to you. I think it is a great shot of a great old airplane. Pity they are now all gone. Only Iran still flys them.

Navy senior quarterback Brian Hampton suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligament and lateral collateral ligament in his left knee in the first quarter of a 34-0 loss to Rutgers on Saturday. He is out for the season.
Since he was about 90% of Navy's offense, it will make this year's victory even more sweet when we win without him.

from what i saw at the Air Force-Navy game, 90% of Navy's offense seemed to come from the running game.

Yep, and in a triple option where the QB has approached 200yds rushing several times, that running game IS the QB.

Say, can anyone tell me what happens w/ respect to the CIC trophy if each service academy wins one and loses one? (i.e. Navy beats AF, AF beats Army, Army beats Navy). I know, I know it will NEVER happen, but what actually would happen to the trophy if it did? Does it stay with Navy?

AFDAD2010,
Each winner shares the trophy and gets their name on the little plaque, but the trophy will physically remain with the previous winner.
Sorry, chances are slim to none that it will return to Colorado Springs this year.
