Army ROTC 2023-2024 2nd Board

DD just moved from board/under consideration to boarded. What does this mean?

Maybe nothing. If she was boarded in October, didn't receive a scholarship and carried over, that's why she was "board/under consideration," right? As you know, she will not get reviewed by a board again (her score is set), but she is in ongoing consideration for a scholarship.

So, my GUESS is that they have taken all the carry-overs from October and moved them from "board/under consideration" to "boarded" status. That means they'll go "back into the pool" so to speak along with all the other files that are being boarded for the first time this week, such as my DS's.

Then, at the conclusion of the process, scholarships will be offered based where everyone sits on the master ranking list, and those not offered this round will revert to "board/under consideration" again until the March board, where the process will repeat.

Please don't hold me to this. This is my best explanation based on everything I have learned here on this forum. There may be, and probably are, others more familiar with the process who can shed more light here. So, when I say it means "maybe nothing" for you, I simply mean that it's more administrative at this point than a sign anything has really changed with your DD's application. However, it does at least indicate she continues to move through the process, and that alone COULD be a good sign for you...

DS was "boarded/under consideration" from the 1st board and is now "boarded" for the 2nd board.

On the 1st board he went from "board ready" to "boarded" and then "boarded/under consideration" when he wasn't selected. Back in the game for round #2!

That makes a lot of sense. Thank you!

It says i'm board ready but I just realized my counselor didn't do the feedback thing. It still says all my required documents are in, so should I be good?

Counselor feedback is not required but they do like to have it if they can. Regardless you'll be boarded this week and I don't imagine you'll be penalized for your counselor not responding.

I am my son's counselor as a homeschool Mom. I sent it in, but they never applied it to the portal. Upon questioning this, they said it wasn't required for anyone. Fine, but I really wish they had included what I sent in. If you are board ready, then you should be fine.

MY DS was boarded/UC and now back to boarded and his file is able to be edited ....does this mean that he wasn't chosen this round as a winner?

No. It means he's back in consideration. Everyone competing in the January board will be in "boarded" status until results are posted. Then at that point you'll either change to "winner" or "boarded/under consideration" and move on to the March board for final consideration.

he was reviewed for the first board, so boarded/boarded UC/then yesterday back to boarded...I think that isn't great news.

No, it's fine. Everyone who was boarded/under consideration after not getting a scholarship in January is back to boarded now. It means your kid is back in the mix with everyone who is being evaluated for the first time in this board like my kid.

Best of luck to you!

They haven't made decisions yet. They are just now boarding candidates. The final decisions probably won't be made for a few days and we won't know the decision until the next week or two.

as I understand the process and I'm not an authority, we will know this rounds answers this week.

In the FAQ in the portal (in the ‘additional information’ area), there are 2 pages dedicated to this issue- it is a common problem that because of firewalls, counselors don’t receive the request etc. Therefore, the academic tab may never turn to green (the counselor part is not a requirement) and you will still be boarded. Hope that makes you feel better!

No that is what he should be. see directly from AROTC site. Switching back to boarded means they are reviewing him. My DS is still Board Ready which means they haven't gotten to him yet.1706026287969.png
