Army ROTC 2023-2024 3rd Board

We just checked the portal and my son won a 3 year! Citadel-bound for sure!! Proud of him...and yes, the red banner stays on. He was not going to check his status when he saw the banner, but when I told him to check the status tab he found the yellow "Winner" box.
Congratulations! My DS won a 3-Year in the January board. Currently committed to Charleston Southern, a Citadel crosstown, but looks like he's now leaning toward transferring the scholarship directly to The Citadel. So, we may be fellow Knob parents!

What a 24 hours. I have twins. My son got 4 year to Northwestern for Music, and his sister got 3 years plus merit scholarship to Kentucky. So blessed!
DH and I met at Northwestern! But I recall only a NROTC battalion. Huge congrats to your children

Excellent! My son also was accepted to Charleston Southern, but was accepted at the 'del back in August and ignored all the other college letters coming in....hope that all of our scholarship kids connect...looking at the kids on the Class of 2028 Facebook page for the 'del - pretty high caliber and accomplished individuals.

It's like we are two ends of the spectrum. My DS initially wanted CSU or College of Charleston. He was NOT going to a military college.

Long story short, he applied to CSU and CofC and was accepted to both. Won a 3-Year in the January board. Then in March, he was like, hey I think want to go to The Citadel. Applied, was accepted and now it's soon time to make a final decision. It's been fun watching him go through the college search process and see how his mindset and attitude changed over time. His mother and I agree The Citadel would be a terrific environment for him, and we believe he would thrive there. It's a very impressive place.

Congratulations to everyone. DD still under consideration so guessing no scholarship. Heart breaks for her must be in her plans. So excited for everyone and congratulations agajn!
Sorry to hear that. Like you said, things happen for a reason. I know for my DS, his Plan B was to show up on campus in the fall, join the ROTC program and prove himself for a campus-based scholarship. Not receiving a national offer is by no means the end of the road if the desire is there to serve. There are many paths, and I hope your DD finds the one best for her. Good luck!

Did any one move from a 3 yr scholarship to a 4 with this round of scholarship releases?
No movement on DS's portal. He won a 3-year in the January board. I know there were quite a few folks hoping/praying for upgrades, but have not seen anyone mention getting one yet. I'll take that as a good sign that upgrades maybe have not yet been processed.

Sorry I didnt read earlier posts, but how easy is it to transfer scholarships? They gave me a scholarship for my 2nd and 3rd choice, my 3rd choice being more expensive then my first lol. Just dont understand the logic behind that.

Hi all! If you receive a 3 year scholarship, could you contact the school to get on campus scholarship to cover tour first year? Also, is room and board or books covered in the scholarship? Congrats to all the winners!

Any "extra benefits" such as room and board are school by school. Contact the ROO at your program of choice for details. Same for any campus-based scholarship money to cover first year.

Congratulations, and good luck!
