Army ROTC 3rd Board Results...

I've already committed to a school (Citadel) and hope to do AROTC there if not from a national level at least at the school It just seems weird to not have heard anything this long
While I can't speak to the rationale behind the AROTC process, I think I've read enough on SAF to suggest that the winners on the final board were notified, a few weeks ago (25 March, if I recall correctly). If your status was not updated to "Winner," then I assume that means you were not awarded a 4-year, 3-year AD, or 2-year JMC scholarship, this year.

What I DON'T understand is why the non-selects didn't have their status change to "Not Selected," once the winners off of the OML were announced.

The fact that you already have the Citadel on lockdown is great! Press forward, work hard, and aim for a school-based scholarship!

Good luck to ya!

Thanks hopefully I'll get one dunno why they didn't change to not selected it was confusing and I was hopefully for way past when I should have been.

My son is in the same boat. My Son's page also still says "Boarded/Under Consideration." When he asked about it back in early April 1, after the weekend when most winners got results, he was told that not all offers had been finalized yet, to standby, and keep monitoring the website. However, he has also gotten several e-mails from local units stating that they understand that he was not awarded a national scholarship, and inviting him to apply for a local unit scholarship. Kind of mixed messaging. I am still surprised that he didn't get a national scholarship, as I thought (and those that I talked to before-hand) that he was a very strong candidate. But it has been a strange year for admissions and scholarships with applications up, and number of seats down (talking in general, not just ROTC).

There is some indication (go back in this thread a few pages) that the total number of national scholarship awards this year was lower than in past years (like 2k this year vs 3k in at least one prior year), in particular 3-year AD scholarships. So it could well be the case that in a prior year your son would likely have been a winner.

Do you have any information on how many people applied for nursing slots this year and/or how many 3 and 4 year nursing scholarships were awarded? We did take your advice on selecting a school that has guaranteed nursing slots so that there will not be any issues with having to transfer later.
I dont have those stats. But the mission is only 250 or so per year, so probably pretty competitive at the HS board.

I appreciate the response. Is this a new known set of numbers, or is that what they just ended up awarding this year? The University of North Georgia web site says, "For the academic year 2018-2019, more than 7,000 high school senior applications for the scholarship were reviewed. About 3,000 applicants were awarded a scholarship. About 25% of those were 4-year scholarships and 75% were 3-year scholarships."

I've also never seen a statistical profile of last year's winners. For the year before I remember seeing a profile that appeared to have been leaked on reddit, which appeared to reflect 4-year winners, but that wasn't clear. And I know Cadet Command published in a briefing that was on the amcsus web site a year or two ago some data that showed how 4-year winners compared favorably with WP cadets. In any event, I don't doubt that cadre get the data, but my distinct impression is that it tends not to filter out from there or be publicized, for example on the Cadet Command web site.

Again, I appreciate the response.

The numbers for 2018-2019 don't look right, but I don't know for sure as I was not ROO at the time due to a USAR mobilization from 2018-2020. Attached are the stats for this year.

Thanks. What is an "Alt offer"?
ALT offers are additional offers made beyond the 1000 4YR and 1000 3YR scholarships, such as MJC 2YR scholarships. The Army also has varying other initiatives that they may award extra scholarships for.
