Will we find out about the Army ROTC scholarship through the portal or in a letter?
Portal changed first for DS
Both - you usually will receive notification via portal first ---> and please note: (as seen from the past) If you only receive one scholarship listed on the portal, do not be alarmed this does not necessarily mean you were only awarded to one school. The letter usually may list more than one scholarship awardance. Now there's been a whole discussion as to whether the scholarship listed on the portal is done in alphabetical order etc etc ... but no one actually knows the reasoning behind the order.
... so basically don't fret when you see only one scholarship listed on the portal.
According to a recent post by Marist, you should receive an answer relatively soon.
Best wishes when you get that TWE!!
Thompson is correct. However, this late in the cycle the chances of there being only one school listed in the letter increases. So don't get your hopes too high either. Hope everyone gets their dream school.
Wouldn't that be the BFE?
... yes haha, I just realized that.
Quick note on that - Don't be discouraged if you do not get what you want; remember that at the end of the day, your goal is to be an Officer in the United States Army. The scholarship doesn't boost your chances at commissioning or anything ... just helps pay for the unbelievable prices of college nowadays ....
I'm going to Penn State next year. And guess what; I didn't get a scholarship for the Army to PSU (got an offer to ERAU and UMD - CP); nor did I get an AFROTC scholarship - but hey, that doesn't stop me from wanting to be an Officer in the United States Military.
I'm sure you will get one; but in the event that you don't, don't let one "no" discourage you. Remember that you can still compete for an IS scholarship; and that the end goal is to be an Officer in the United States Army. If you want it, you WILL get it - with or without a scholarship.
Can't wait until you tell us that you got a ... BFE (got it right this time Jcleppe )!!!
