AROTC 3rd Board

You were not rejected! You just didn't receive a highly competitive scholarship. If it's your goal to commission, then join the unit at the college you will be attending as a non-scholarship cadet. Cadets will drop from the program and scholarships will be available down the line. I'm not an expert but I have one DS attending college on an NROTC scholarship and my other DS will be attending college this fall with an AROTC scholarship. So, I know enough to be dangerous, I guess.

DS found out yesterday he was awarded the 3 year. Instructions talk about accepting the offer but I don't see where to do that. Is it in the actual "letter" we get. We haven't received an official letter or email. The only way we knew was the portal and other emails from ROTC programs with congratulati

Thank you for the advice and information on your son's experience. I didn't know that it might take a few transfer requests for one to be approved, so I'll be sure to submit mine as soon as possible. I wish the best of luck to your youngest!
My son's transfer request was approved.

Yeah, I will still do rotc in college. My college did turn competitive this year though so that is probably why I didn't get the scholarship. Acceptance at my college went from 50% to 13% :/

I received a 3 yr on the 2nd board. I immediately accepted it at my #1 choice, Norwich. I was not upgraded to a 4 yr but am still honored to have received the 3 yr.
I will be contacting the ROTC office soon with specific questions and don't want to miss anything. What questions are other students asking at this time to their respective colleges? One question I have is about summer obligations or opportunities.

I asked what workouts I could do to prepare for the fall, and I also asked to be considered for any extra scholarships since I only received a 3 year and will have to cover out of state costs for the first year.

My DS is headed to Norwich as well! Very excited about his future!
