got en email today that said all offers have been posted. Remember that an offer isn't official until you get the letter in the mail. For those of you that are still waiting for your status to change, it's time to shift fire to plan B. I don't want to create false hope, but remember that there will likely still be campus based scholarships (expect them to be predominantly 3 year AD). There will also be an increase in the Guard/Reserve mission, and thus GRFD scholarships may be available for those cadets not interested in Active Duty. And don't ever forget the SMP option.

It's been a difficult scholarship process from my end, with a lot of uncertainty, but I am certain that we will continue to provide any qualified, motivated student interested in serving as an Army Officer the tools and the opportunity they need to succeed as a Second Lieutenant when they graduate. As someone who shares our values of Loyalty, Duty, and Selfless Service you should expect nothing more, and nothing less.

Good luck to all of you.

Thank you for all your help and support through this long process. It has been a very interesting year to say the least. Your posts and blog have been a wealth of information. My son is excited and looking forward to starting in the Fall.

I do have one question. Now that the CC Scholarships are all wrapped up for the year, what was your take on applicants receiving Dodomerb packets prior to receiving a scholarship. It seems that many who received these packets did not receive an offer, some kids are scheduled for their exams next week but never saw their status change. Was CC just being proactive, with all the budget issues it seems like an undue expense. On the other hand these applicants that did not receive a scholarship will have their medical issues resolved before arriving at school in the Fall when they compete for any available campus scholarships. If they receive one they will not have to wait for medical to become contracted.

Just thought I would ask your opinion.

Thank you again for all your help. Good luck with the new class of 2015.

I have no insight as to why some were started and some weren't. As you said, coming to campus already DODMERB Q makes my life easier, and put that cadet one step closer to contracting, whether scholarship or not. When I get a little more time, and finally get access to the DODMERB status of the HS applicants I may try to see if there is a correlation between board ready and DODMERB packet.

It has indeed been an interesting year, and I'm glad I could help provide information to help you all through the process.

Clarkson, if you don't mind me asking, why is there going to be an increase in the guard/reserve mission?

Don't mind you asking, and can only speculate why. That's the guidance we got this year, and I would guess that changes in force structure, and the changing mission of the Guard/Reserves have caused Accessions Command to direct that we produce more. Don't read too much into this...this board is always thinking too hard. If a cadet wants active duty they need to do what is asked and control what they can (grades, fitness level).

Did I read too much into your question???

Yes, finally learning how to not think too much and try to control the tiger so to speak. DS luckily doesn't have my control freak tendency (yet) and appreciates your post and blog. He learned a lot. This forum is amazing, but we do tend to put everything under the microscope:biggrin:

Thanks again for posting what you can when you can.
