AROTC Board 2

If I remember correctly, the second AROTC board has begun this week! Unfortunately, I was deferred to this board from the first, but I’m still very optimistic for myself and any other applicants remaining! Try not to obsessively check your portal this week, that’s all I did last board :p looking back, portal changes started around Wednesday or Thursday, and all changes were done by Friday.

Good luck to all, and thanks for your willingness to serve. My DS's application was deferred to this board as well - so my fingers are crossed for him this week.
 
My DS did not apply in time for the first board, but he is Board Ready now, so the waiting begins. My DD applied in the second Board 4 years ago and found out that she was a 4 year winner on the last day of the Board. I wonder how COVID will change the timeline.

4 years ago my DD found out that she was a winner at day 5 of the board, but we cannot remember when the status changed, if ever, to Boarded or B/UC. Reading back in other threads it seems that some had a change to B/UC and then to Boarded with the school choice locked. I think they were then notified that they were a winner but not sure how soon afterwards.

You may be right on this. All I remember is that “signs” of a winner status were showing before the Friday of the board’s conclusion. Things like a locked school of intent list and the sort.
 
This thread definitely brings back memories. We had lengthy threads last year about the timing of notifications. Take a few minutes and search the threads last year - a lot of information/speculation. Exciting times - enjoy the ride!

That seems to be the trend, let's hope that the results come soon - waiting is the hardest part. Good luck to us all!! Oh and keep posting if you have information to share. I have noticed that people drop off once they get a notification.

I was hoping we would see some ROTC application veterans here! I think I have read all the posts from last year, and my takeaway is that......there is no specific order to anything, I think it all just a tease 😂. Will try to enjoy the ride..... 😂

There is a pattern and timing, but not enough to offer definitive info. One thing that is typically a good sign is when your school choices are locked and you can't change them. The thought here is that you have been awarded a scholarship and CC is divvying up the scholarships amongst the schools. BUT this is 2020/2021 nothing is normal. Good luck!

You think the decisions will be out early next week? or throughout the week.
 
There is a thread that was started on Dec 9, 2019 by @maroonandgold - titled AROTC 1st Board. It is an step by step of what phases people went through regarding the boarding process and award notification. The process last year followed closely the previous years. I would think this year would as well. Take an hour or so and read through the AROTC 1st board and 2nd board threads - they have already stressed through what you are going through or about to go through.

My DS changed from Board ready to B/UC on 12/15 and then to Boarded on 12/17 - awarded 4yr on 12/19. Our board was delayed last year - so DEC was the 1st board.

The waiting is definitely the hardest part. There are pages and pages in the forum that deal with the speculation of what Boarded vs B/UC mean. The consensus seems to be that you move from B/UC to Boarded before an offer is made.

With our daughter, she got the winner announcement on Friday of her board. We did not know anything about schools locked at the time (2017), so we will be watching that as well.
 
Just want to send off a salute to all of you -- parents and future Army Officers. I know many parents are also former military service members. We are proud and hopeful for all of you, as it is such a unique privilege to serve this great country. No matter the political turmoils -- and there have certainly been turmoils in the not distant past -- such as Vietnam, the end of the draft, the hollowed out military -- still we are doing something great in this country, and in your families, that our sons and daughters are eager to defend the Constitution. Thank you all!
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
