AROTC January Board Acceptance

I'm paranoid about that stuff and I've read at least 50 stories on here and the Army board about people's stuff not getting received or recorded. I already told my daughter, we're going to FAX it, email it and then send it regular mail as well. I'm not taking any chances on a scholarship worth over $100K :thumb:

We recieved no notification letter. However, a few days after accepting my daughters AROTC portal updated to confirm her choice of school for the scholarship. That is how you can be sure they got it.

We did the same thing with my son's letter. We faxed it the same day he received it and then mailed it.
 
For the truly paranoid among us :smile: you can always send the response via registered mail. Also, when sending email I always request a read receipt. At least that way I know someone opened the email.
 
I just received an email informing me I have won a 4 Year scholarship. However, my status has not changed online. Also in the email, this was stated: Of the schools you listed in your application there are currently no available scholarship allocations. Can someone please tell me what my next step is? The top three schools on my list are Virginia Tech, The Citadel, and Ohio State. I am already academically accepted at The Citadel. Do I need to apply to other schools?

I was wondering when this situation would develop. I suggest contacting CC AND the PMS's at your three school choices. Based on your school choices my guess is that some of the scholarships may have been awareded to students who will eventually opt for a SA. That will free up a scholarship. You need to try and get a committment that you will be considered for an award if a scholarship becomes available.

Most of the schools that my son is looking at already don't have any spots left.
They only had either 10 or 15 and they're filled at the moment.

Did the email come from Cadet Command or one of the schools? Just curious!
 
no allocations

Does any one know how long a scholarship winner has to accept the offer if they get the "no allocations at your seven schools" message? Can a student accept the scholarship without having a school lined up?
 
Has anyone had their status change confirming the school they accepted the scholarship to?

Also, has anyone received their packet from concorde yet?

I'm wondering too. My point of contact doesn't respond to my inquiries. Does ANYONE have a point of contact who is actually there?

FYI - my daughter received her packet from Concorde today. She was selected for AROTC scholarship in the January board. No change in her school status yet to reflect her selection.
 
My son received a scholarship in this last round and his status has changed online to "accepted a scholarship to NC State pending medical review" within two days. He mailed the letter back February 8th and I faxed it the same day.
The interesting thing is he received ANOTHER letter in today's mail that says the exact same as the letter he received on Feb. 6th. Not sure what is up with that.

As for the DoDMERB part, he applied to the AFA in mid January. He was set up on DoDMERB within a week so he had his physical on Feb. 4th. When he logs in DoDMERB he is showing pending for AFA and AROTC, even though he has withdrawn his application to AFA.
 
Hmm, guess I'll give it another week or so. I don't want them to think I'm crazy if I fax it again and they already have it. I also mailed it:shake:
