    Hi,

First, thanks to everyone for all of the informaiton on here. I have learned alot and found the answers to most of my questions looking at previous threads.

But I do have a question...

I thought in a previous post I read about someone who referenced a specific MOS that allowed them to enlist in NG/Reserve basically as a Cadet in ROTC. It was something like RO? If I recal correctly it kept them from attending at least AIT but maybe Basic as well. It was no the SMP program but a specific MOS.

Of course I can't seem to find the thread so I could be wrong?!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

By the way I have completed my ROTC application and was passed over by the first board. I have hopes for the second board. I will be a Mechanical Engineering Major. The major who conducted my interview told me I maxed out several categories (Leadership/PT/Avg. GPA 3.3+/29 ACT) and used phrases like "I would expect you to receive offers" "You are and excellent canidate and should do well especially for the 2nd board"

The MOS is 09R. It is through SMP. You don't enlist as an 09R, but your MOS changes to it once you contract with SMP. If you can plan it right with the SMP program, you don't have to attend IET/AIT. You will not be eligible for certain benefits though.
