authorized DoDMERB exam for Army ROTC

My son received an email stating that his name had been submitted to DoDMERB authorizing a medical exam. He has not received notice of winning a scholarship. Should we wait until notification? Does everyone who is boarded get this email?

Congrats to your son! ROTC programs only ask for exams once a scholarship is awarded. Excellent!!
 
How do you access the AROTC app portal? We have been doing this through his online account (computer) and it still shows this:

Ugg, the red banner has changed at the top of his application to the results are posted but his status still says boarded/under consideration... :-(

That is interesting. I would say you may still hear something or he was right on the bubble.

Oh, wow. Maybe your DS should email Cadet Command to ask what to do about the Dodmerb request given his portal is saying he hasn't been awarded a scholarship, yet? If this is the first request he's had with Dodmerb he'll have to schedule everything via Dodmets first. If it isn't and he's already been qualified via an SA request, then another qualification letter will post for AROTC and maybe an email isn't necessary, except to get some clarification...

Thanks, we will contact Cadet Command. This is the first request. Thanks for your input. In my opinion, the Army website needs a lot of work...

Cadet Command said he might be in contention for a brigade offer or a service academy. Do you know what a brigade offer could be? He opened an account with USMA but never completed the application, so I don't think it is that.

That is not always the case, although it is the norm. If they can squeeze some folks in prior to a scholarship award, they will. Also, what @Texark147 said .. get it started.
