Which class are you applying to? How do you have a BGO interview so early??

If you run a search under BGO or BGO interview, you'll find a lot of helpful information. I also have posted some info on my stickies above.

As for it being early, some Class of 2015 applicants are now in the BGO systems. Most BGOs will wait until the summer to start interviews but yours may just be very pro-active.

I'm already in contact with my BGO, but he said that we can only schedule meetings after 38% of my packet is in. I guess there is no universal standard.

Applying to 2015. I emailed him when we got candidate letters, called him today, and scheduled it for tomorrow. Apparently he lives close by so it's not hard to get here. And my application is probably almost 40 % done so it could still be the same standard. Hopefully I'm prepared and it won't be a disadvantage doing it this early, but I know why I want to go and why I want to serve so hopefully it won't be too bad haha.

It shouldn't make much difference, especially if you have an experienced BGO.

BGO's are advised to conduct interviews when 33% of the packet is complete. However, some BGOs will interview any student who is an official candidate while others wait until 100% of the packet is in. It tends to depend on a number of things including: (1) how many candidates the BGO has, (2) how busy the BGO is, (3) how much the candidate presses for an early interview, and (4) how many times the BGO has been "burned" in the past by interviewing folks with 0-11% in and then having that person not complete anything more.

It really does vary by individaul BGO. For the new candidates out there, remember that BGOs are volunteers who often have other full-time jobs. Some BGOs may be dealing with 30 candidates per year while others may have only 1. Some BGOs cover a huge geographic area while others may have three schools within a few miles. Some have been BGOs for years and others are brand new. Thus, all experiences with BGOs won't be alike.
