A quick question. I am a C/Capt in Civil Air Patrol and was wondering if it would be appropriate to wear my CAP service dress uniform to my first meeting with my BGO. It is at an All-Academy open house at my school. The school's Army JROTC cadets are helping with this event (and will obviously be in uniform). Would it be appropriate to be the only one in a different uniform? This is my first impression, and would not want it to look as though I am out of place, or trying to "show off".

Thanks,

Just my $0.02498495. Unless you have a reason or need to wear a JrROTC or CAP uniform, Why would you? If you want to make a good first impression, then you should dress appropriately. A Cap or JrROTC uniform can give the impression that you are trying to dress "Equal" to military members. Granted, some ALO/MALO/BGO might be impressed with this, but I think it's better to dress with clothing that is appropriate. Would a recruited athlete go to their ALO/BGO/MALO or MOC interview in their football uniform? Just because someone is in CAP or JrROTC doesn't mean they are in the military. Dress appropriately, meaning nice clothes. Not a CAP uniform.

The thing that will be noticed most probably not be what you are wearing so long as it is clean, pressed, and appropriately worn. Personally, I would not have a problem with your being in uniform, I have met with many prospects and candidates in uniform, in several instances at interviews. More important, will be your attention and your questions, responses, and statements. Be sharp in all dimensions!
