I am sure its an obvious answer that I couldn't track down. Can anyone tell me the difference between BGO VS Area Coordinator? What are the different jobs & responsibilities?

An Area Coordinator typically is an experienced BGO who is charged with managing and leading the BGO's who serve his/her assigned area. In some instances there will be only one AC per state, in larger, more populous states there will be more than one AC. For example, Ohio has four Areas and four ACs. Areas typically are defined by ZIP Codes.

The AC has overall responsibility for the operation of his/her assigned area, including:
    A. Recruiting and assigning BGOs to schools or candidates.
    B. Monitoring the progress of candidates and BGOs through the course of the cycle to ensure that interviews are being conducted timely, proper information is flowing to the candidates, etc.
    C. Facilitating the scheduling of OPINFO events typically during Thanksgiving Week.
    D. Ensuring that appropriate personnel are available for MOC Service Academy events.
    E. Ensuring that BGOs are aware of any changes in information or procedures for working with candidates.
As I noted earlier, the AC is the designated manager of the assigned area and it would be an exercise in futility to list all the facets of the assignment, and individual ACs have their own approaches to managing the assignment.
The BGOs are assigned specific schools and candidates and generally counsel their canddiates and conduct candidate interviews, etc. They also are involved in visiting assigned schools, participate in college fairs, and counsel prospective candidates.
