    Hello Everyone,

One branch that really intrests me is the Intelligence branch of the Army. If I do attend West Point and graduate, I would like to branch Intelligence as a possiblity.

I have researched online about the Intelligence branch in the Army and have talked to many other people that have told me that intelligence jobs are what some people would call "paper-pushing" jobs.

Does anyone know how difficult it is to get into the intellgence branch after West Point? Also, what is a good website with accurate information about the intelligence branch?

I'm pretty sure Scoutpilot recently posted a good Cartoon about the difference between what people think Intelligence is, and what it really is. I believe the jist of the cartoon is that an Intelligence officer takes emails and written reports and turns them into Powerpoint slides for his/her superiors.

Found it: Post #5 of this Thread: http://www.serviceacademyforums.com/showthread.php?p=235090#post235090

    1. Depends on your grades, military skills, and PT test. It is one of the harder branches to get due to its small size.
    2. It is a lot of paper pushing. Intel folk I worked with and around overseas just sat down and read intelligence all day and debriefed it / made powerpoints for commanders. I thought I wanted to go intel, but it wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. You also conduct meetings with individuals to gather intelligence as well. If you like reading and writing, this would definitely be the field for you.
