I have no affiliation with the Broadmoor resort except as a very pleased past guest -- it's five-star, and there's unfortunately nothing comparable near Highland Falls for visits to my son. Thought some USAFA parents might be interested in booking now -got the email below yesterday of some very good temporary rates.

Including...
Your choice of Kids Eat Free* or
Complimentary Day Pass to The Broadmoor Spa*

For 72 hours only, starting today, Friday, April 16 through Sunday, April 18,
book your 2010 stay and receive 50% off all room,
suite and cottage rates at The Broadmoor.

mmb5 you talked about Highland Falls. Does that mean your a WP parent? If so, can you recommend a hotel there. Two years ago I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Ft. Montgomery for the AF-Army game but this year they want $299 a night. Just a little out of my budget. I was poking around on hotels.com at hotel in Newburgh. Is that a good place, how far is that from WP. We are heading out for the AF-Army game again.

I'm parent of an incoming cadet, so have stayed around WP a couple of times - twice at the Thayer, once at that Holiday Inn Express - was fine, but $300 a night????

Newburgh is perhaps 20 minutes away but if you're flying into Stewart International Airport (far easier than the big ones), it may make a lot of sense.
