I thought it would be nice to make a thread for those applying for nominations in California. I understand it is very competitive here in California but it would be very beneficial for all of us involved if we could share some information as we play this game of waiting. However, as GI Joe puts it, "knowing is half the battle."......lol...
My DS had an interview with both Congressman Royce (39th) and Senator Feinstein on Dec 3, 2016. Anybody heard anything from either of them as to the decisions? My DS tells me that the Feinstein office would notify applicants by Feb 2017. No information on the Congressional office of 39th, yet, though.
I would love to hear it before Christmas, at least.
Any comments?
 
Congressman Royce usually makes notification a week before Christmas. Its their way of giving out gifts. Feinstein, good luck on her. Thats been the trend in the past

I had my interview with Congresswoman Brownley (26th), Senator Boxer, and Senator Feinstein, all for USAFA nom. I got a nomination from Senator Feinstein, and I hear back from Congresswoman Brownley this coming Saturday. The thing I'm wondering is when does Senator Boxer's board make its decisions?
 
DD is still waiting to hear back from district 3 Garamendi. Had the interview Dec. 3rd. We have no idea how long he takes. DD is probably more competitive for Prep rather then direct entry due to lower test scores. I wonder if she would get a nomination? She's competitive in every other area.
 
DS had interviews with both senators (Boxer on 11/19 and Feinstein on 12/3), his portal shows that he received a nomination on 12/8 from senator 2. We think it might be from Sen. Feinstein but we're not so sure since he didn't get a phone call or email notifying him about the nom.

He received an email from USNA this morning with an offer of appointment which he will accept.

Still have an interview scheduled for this Saturday (12/17) with DeSaulnier (CA-11), that might or might not happen. DS needs to call and let them know about the appointment.

I'm in Royce (39th) too and had my interview on 3 Dec as well. Waiting to hear back!

Corrections on Feinstein's nomination announcement ! Not Feb 2017.
My DS just got a call from Feinstein's office that he has received the nomination from her.

@Mere2033 I'm CA3 as well, applied USNA. It seemed to take a while for me to hear whether I got an interview so I'm expecting a wait on this as well. I went into the office in my town last Tuesday and spoke with the district director (a CMSgt) and he said they would finish up the decisions by that Friday but was unsure whether to release them due to some candidates not starting an application for the school (the deadline for most is Dec31). Our district seems to move a bit slower than others. Quite nervous to hear!

DS also got a phone call from Feinstein's office today and was told to expect the letter in the mail.
Funny in our case, since he also got his offer this morning (and accepted).

Good luck on your DS's offer. Please let us know when it happens.

My DS received a nomination to USMA from Sen Feinstein's office today. He was notified by phone call. The nomination hasn't been posted to his portal yet. DS already has a competitive nomination from our congress person(CA-24).

Your DS had interviews with both senators? That is impressive! I thought the senators "talk" and don't interview the same candidates in California as it is so competitive.

CA-17 here. I also had my interview with Senator Feinstein on Dec. 3. I was told over phone today that I would be receiving her principal nomination and to expect a letter "for my records" within a week. I don't know where your DS got the February 2017 date from, since at least in my interview, the panel clearly stated that I would find out the results within a month. Good luck while you wait for your results!

If you read my correction comment right after my post , you would see that I corrected and clarified thay it is not Feb 2017. My DS got a call today as well. Sorry for the misinformation!
