Can anyone post how much the new appointees will make monthly?

It's kinda random, depending on what is issued that month. I had parade dress deducted last month so I got $45. Other months I get up to $600

Magic money is basically an advance of pay used to purchase the laptop & uniforms. In year's past the cadets also used the magic money to purchase their books. This year they limited the use of magic money to first semester books only for the new C4C's, but you didn't have to use it to buy your books. Our son found used books online at Amazon, B&N, and from upperclassmen which were much cheaper than those in the C-Store (cadet store).

Thanks, Greentrees -- I'll let my cadet know to be sure to look for used books to boost that bank account!

I also picked up a spread sheet on potential pay (including loan repayment) for the first year from the Cadet Pay group at Orientation. I would think you could find them and request a copy of that and it would give you and your cadet a good idea of at least 4th class year pay.

Oh, yeah,
ANYTHING in the bank is gravy if you aren't having to pay for gas to get to work, daily food, a place to live (student ghetto), etc. My cadet will be excited to get $50 - that's more than his allowance after gas and lunches at high school!
