I’m looking into nova a community college system in virginia because I really would like to go to uva or vtech for engineering and they offer guaranteed admission. I’ve also been seriously looking into rotc and was wondering if I can transfer from nova to uva/vtech and still be eligible for an NROTC scholarship?

Yes you can. When you get accepted into UVA/VT, you would apply for the side load scholarship(application is about May with board decision in late July). If awarded, you have a 3 year scholarship. If not awarded, you could go to the UVA/VT unit as a college programmer for a year and then apply for a 2 year side load.

One option I am not sure you are aware of is the Hampton Roads Consortium. Tidewater Community College is included in that consortium. You can join the unit as a college programmer while in community college. Be active in the unit and do well in school, and you have a better chance at that 3 year side load. You can then transfer to ODU or UVA/VT for engineering. ODU would continue in the same unit. Being a College Programmer increases the likelihood of being awarded a side load.

Verify this, but I believe any Virginia community college has guaranteed admission to a Virginia public school. It is not just NOVA Community College. Virginia's community collegies are all tied together I remember reading.

I don't know where you live(and we don't need to know), so being at Tidewater Community College might not be feasible financially, but I just wanted you to know the option.

Work in higher ed, including support for some community colleges, in VA. Confirming that there matriculation/pipeline agreements that guarantee admission to state schools based on gpa.
