I have not received a candidate code or anything stating if I am an official candidate. Should I be expecting anything soon or is this a bad sign?

When did you submit the preliminary application?

Hmm.. I didn't apply for NASS but submitted my preliminary application the day it opened. I received my candidate letter in the beginning of June. Sorry I couldn't give you more info.

What were your test scores and gpa/class rank if you don't mind me asking.

The naval academy designates someone an official candidate, with sat/act and rank in class standings that the admission panel deems qualified to become an official candidate.

Hopeful, my gpa weighted is 3.47 but may go up depending on my Ap physics test score, and my rank was 177/907. At the time I had not taken the SAT but now I have a 1690 (not what I want but I am working on it)

You need to order your sat score to the naval cadency. My blue and gold officer told me the naval academy needs sat score before someone can become an official candidate

I became an official candidate before I submitted my ACT/SAT scores.

Thanks for the info, I sent my scores to the academy. Now it's a waiting game. Appreciate the responses!

No, I typed in my scores but I never sent in the official scores. They have my scores now.

To become an official candidate, USNA does not need official scores (self reported is acceptable) and they do not need SAT/ACT scores...PSAT and PLAN test scores are good enough. For the official application you do need SAT and/or ACT scores.
