CFA Administrator, same as last year?

Hello, after getting turned down to the class of 27 I have started to gear up for next year's offensive and reapply to USNA. I am waiting to hear back from my NROTC scholarship (anyone know when the heck that comes out? Already April 17th) and I have a backup school in place.

I am aware I have to retake the CFA for my new app. I am still currently in high school (graduating 6/1/23). I used my PE teacher as a CFA administrator for the application for the class of 27, can I reuse that same teacher to the class of 28 application (I will be a freshman in college by then and hopefully a cadet in NROTC).

The reason I ask is that my PE teacher knows me well, and can easily comment on my performance (Ex. Westpoint requires a comment on the candidate's performance when the administrator submits the CFA form). Also, my PE teacher has already gone through the testing process once with me this year so it would be a breeze for them instead of having to explain everything to another new administrator.

Finally, is it possible to take the CFA right now as an applicant to the class of 28? I assume so because the application portal has already opened for that year. I am still in track

If you took it today, would you max out each category? If the answer is no, then I would say what's the rush? If you intend to stay physically active and potentially join a cadre, you should be able to stay fit and likely improve.

I would think that once you are in college, my gut would say to find a new proctor that meets the requirements. Your stats from the test matter more than a high school PE teacher's remarks I would believe. This also goes along with establishing relationships/rapport with your college instructors. High school will soon be in the rearview, and it should probably stay there.

Printing out the instructions and providing them to an approved proctor whom you seek out and establish respectful communication with when it is time would be just fine.

It looks like my last sentence got cut off. I meant to say I'm still participating in varsity track, and I'm practically in my peak of athleticism right now. I feel like once summer break hits and I go visit Japan I will have a hard time working out on the same volume as usual. I hope to take the CFA sometime in the next few months then. I think I'll take it just to get a baseline, and retake it during college to see if I can improve my scores.

The portal has opened for Class of 2028?

If you do NROTC, I believe those instructors are qualified to administer the test and should be happy to do so. Also, this may be rare but I'm lucky enough to live ~30 minutes from an AFB and go to college 15 minutes from another one. This year and last year different retired army officers that live in the areas contacted service academy candidates for monthly CFAs hosted on base, they also offered great advice for all things SA admissions (they specialized in USMA but were still really helpful). If this is an option that's available to you, absolutely take advantage.

I should add that they were USMA admissions field officers and I think they probably got my contact info when I opened an app to West Point for 2025, but they were happy to administer the test to candidates for all academies and even HS freshman and up.

Thanks wildcat. I will take the test in high school, just to get scores uploaded on online, then work to perfect it next year at college. I maxed both pullups and pushups, but there was room to improve on the run and b ball throw.

Friendly suggestion ... for numerous reasons, anonymity is always best.
